Kindergarten Program

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself
any direction you choose." - Dr. Seuss

The Kindergarten Program is an enriched JK and SK Program offering a low teacher/student ratio. The ages of the children in this program range from 3.5 to 5 years of age.
The Kindergarten Program offers many opportunities for developing social and independence skills which are essential to entering first grade with confidence. We also help children achieve the appropriate skill levels in all learning subjects. Our academic focus for the children are foundational skills in reading, writing, and math. The guided development of social, emotional, thinking, and physical skills are all equally important in setting a child up for success.

Curriculum Focus

Our Kindergarten program is based on the 4 frames of the kindergarten curriculum as outlined in the Ontario Ministry of Education, consisting of Belonging and Contributing, Self-Regulation and Well-Being, Demonstrating Literacy and Mathematics Behaviours as well as Problem Solving and Innovating.

Children will learn in a stimulating environment that recognizes that children learn at their own pace. The Kindergarten program emphasizes play-based learning as it provides many opportunities for children to ask questions, investigate, solve problems and socialize with their classmates. Through inquiry based learning, children are able to explore, engage in critical thinking and express their creativity through the various activities set up by the educators.

We help spark confidence

We look for ways to help children practice their natural abilities for being kind, caring, curious.

  • Asking for that they need with kindness
  • Feeling joy in being curious for learning about the world around them
  • Practicing patience when things feel difficult or confusing so they can slow down to do great work rather then rushing through their work
